Jud with Hugo and Carol Rosales. Hugo is the new Assistant Pastor at the San Pedro Church in Monterrey. They were excited about the vision for a Fellows Initiative in Monterrey. We were delighted, also, to find out the we have very close mutual friends: Mark and Anne Auffarth. Mark was their pastor in Santiago, Chile.
Jud traveled to Monterrey, Mexico in July. This trip was primarily a follow-up to the Fellows mini-conference in Belgium in April. Steven Salter, a friend from Dothan, Alabama, went along to see the ministry that is developing in that city. While we were there we met with: Fernando Garza, a business consultant who is helping with the development of our Fellows Initiative; Andres Garza, (no relation to Fernando) who is the Senior Pastor at the San Pedro church and also the Latin America Director for City to City; Margarita Olivas, a lawyer who will set up a non-profit organization as the sponsoring agency for Fellows; and a number of lay leaders from the San Pedro church. By the end of December we hope to have established a non-profit in Mexico, a board of directors appointed, have Fellows materials translated into Spanish, as well as a plan for an initial beta-test of a Fellows program. Pray for the successful completion of these goals.
